Chris,

A couple of months ago I played around with this as I wanted to retrieve
data through an AJAX call then load it into a TB window.
I started off with your method of calling TB_show() directly, then gradually
customised the whole thing (e.g. I didn't need the automated functionality,
but did need to change the caption while the box was displayed).

Whilst mine is now very different from the original, I think all you need to
do to start is TB_show('window caption', 'foo.php?width=300&height=250'). I
also moved the parameters from the query string to arguments to the
function.

Hope that helps!

Okay, I just took a look at thickbox.js and want to know if all I have
to do is call TB_show(caption, url, rel); ?

I'll play around with this, but would love it if anyone could tell me
if they've had this need before and how they solved it.

Thanks,
Chris
