As SVN is also down, perhaps you could switch to a provider like SourceForge? As well as providing a lot of functionality (including https access - which for me would mean I could do proper checkouts behind our restrictive proxies), it may possibly bring in a lot more users. You also don't have to worry about DDoS.
Shame they just shut you down. Would also be interested to know who the host was.
