Assuming you do have a cross-domain problem, I have a simple proxy written
in perl. (http.cgi)

use LWP::UserAgent;
use CGI;
$ua = LWP::UserAgent->new;
$ua->agent("NuBrowser/10.7 ");
$res = $ua->request(HTTP::Request->new(GET => $ENV{QUERY_STRING}));
$q = CGI->new;
print $q->header(-type=>$res->headers->{'content-type'}),$res->content;
change
url: 'rss.xml',
to
url: 'http.cgi/rss.xml',
