[jQuery] Autocomplete

First time posting to the list. I have been using jquery for a couple of 
months and it rocks!

I am using Jörn's autocomplete plugin to query results from a database. 
Everything is working perfectly. However what I am wanting to do is have 
a select box next to the autocomplete box that will allow the user to 
select the type of information for which they would like to search. Is 
there a way to go about passing the value from the select box along to 
the query through the autocomplete plugin? All help is much appreciated.
