Have you tried setting the position to absolute instead?  You should
probably do something like below instead, that should speed up your app:

$theImg = $('#insideParent img'); //put before $('#insideParent').Draggable(

$theImg.css({'left':'-'+newx+'px', 'top':'-'+newy+'px'});
