I think the question is that if you don't NEED to use javascript, why would you? You can position an element on the page using CSS just fine, without hacks. andy

I know position:absolute is not recommanded, but i don't see any reason why if you use it in a javascript-enabled context, allowing you to detect and reposition things according to the user configuration. But i'm probably missing some knowledge here. Does anyone have arguments against the use of position:absolute for layouts? Performance issues?
