[jQuery] How to upgrade from JQuery 1.0 to 1.2 without changing the existing code?

I have built quite a bunch of things with JQuery 1.0. for my web
application project. Every time, I want to upgrade from this version
to the latest one...there is always some errors.

What is the best practical way to achieve this?
