Try it with the beta version of Firefox 3. I have always loved Firefox for it's features. But I've always hated Firefox for the worst performance of a web browser ever. Even the IE hasn't been that bad (it just can't display web pages properly and has lots of trouble with HTTP but is otherwise a great web browser ;) ). I've noticed that almost all JS effects in Firefox 2 are crappy. While in Firefox 3 everything is smooth as in the IE7 or Opera9.
