Hi, I like jQuery a lot since I started working with it some months ago and I am thrilled when I see jQuery UI. But there is one thing that I don't like: jQuery ships code that I don't need and that users have to download even if it is not used. I am talking specifically about the ajax code in jQuery, since I work with the xajax framework for some years now and I have no intention to change that.
So, my suggestion would be to do the same thing with jQuery as with jQuery UI: Let the developers decide which chunks they want to include and enable them to make a customized version. I don't know which parts can be stripped (maybe there are a lot of internal dependencies that I don't know about) but I think Ajax and Effects could be stripped if not needed? Thanks for reading and your ideas / opinions on that topic. BR, Michael
