[jQuery] .stop in it's own sentence?

Hi!

Is it right that I have to put .stop in it's own sentence?

Like:
                $('#K_meny li') .stop;
                $('#K_meny li').animate({.. } , 1000);
And not:
     $('#K_meny li') .stop.animate({.. } , 1000);

I've got some errors with the latter.
