I hate to revive a more-or-less dead thread, but this problem is still occurring as far as I can see.
The docs. subdomain doesn't just host the documentation, so the other sources are of no use. It happens to host a good portion of the content regarding release notes, download notes, tutorials, the discussions, and credits. If this were a non-tech-oriented community this might be understandable, but really this is absurd. MediaTemple has had issues with this for several months now. I think their time has run out. I'm sure that between all of the people willing to help out a better solution can be had.
