Ok. Your instance of jQuery is living in the parent window, so you
need to reference it from inside the pop-up.

Use this inside your pop-up code:

<script type="text/javascript">
$ = window.opener.$;
$(window).load(function(){
     $('#message',document).val(window.opener.location.href);
});
</script>
