just make sure that you remove any previous validation messages before inserting new ones. if you add class of 'validation-msg' to your messages, then do a $('.validation-msg').remove() whenever you validate something. If you are considering performance when you could also do something along the lines of $('element-being- validated').next('.validation-msg').text('new validation message')
