You could try coding your table more specifically like this:

<table>
 <thead>
 <tr>
  <th>my header content</th>
 </tr>
 </thead>
<tbody>
 <tr>
  <td>my body content</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
</table>

Then in your jQuery code do:

 $("table tbody tr")

Hope that helps :)
