use animat() function
$('.msg_body').animate({"left": "50", "opacity": 1}, 1500).fadeOut(1000);

$($(this).attr("href")).animate({"left": "50", "opacity": 1},
1500).fadeIn(1000);

above animate function will fade out first & after 1000 ms will proceed for
fadein

right now its getting fadeOut & immediate getting fadeIn so ur not able to
observe what happening or when it happening.  :)
