I dont know if this is what you are talking about, but i think i was having the same problem. I had problems trying to change de colspan to a table's TD in IE, after doing many tests i found the way. Here is the jquery code:
$('.G_HD0').attr({colSpan:"3"}); searching by class $('#td1').attr({colSpan:"3"}); searching by ID In the example i've search the TD by class, the problem with the IE was the way of writing COLSPAN... it must have a capital s as the example above.
