You say you downloaded a newer version of jQuery, but v1.2.1 is actually quite old. I'd highly recommend upgrading to v1.3.2 which is the latest. http://jqueryjs.googlecode.com/files/jquery-1.3.2.min.js If you decide to upgrade to the latest Cycle version (2.62) you will need jQuery v1.2.6 or later.
