[jQuery] dataset load

My first question and a possible n00b question...
I wanna preload a asp.net dataset by firisng a webservice without
waiting for the document to complete load ... Images etc.... I know it
will need ajax call... Can xome someone here kindly walk me through
the steps to do this ?
