jQuery does not support :target. The only reason why it works in Firefox 3.5 is that it provides a native querySelectorAll method. We would have to have an implementation that works in other browser (FF 3.0, IE 8, etc.) and we don't have that right now. You're welcome to file a ticket asking for :target.
