If you want to remove the strong tags you can use this plugin;
http://benalman.com/projects/jquery-unwrap-plugin/

Or try these two lines of code;

temp = $(".hentry").find(".excerpt").html() ;
$(".hentry").find(".excerpt").before(temp).remove();

It fills the temp with the content of your strong tag and places it
before himself and the original.
