Hi David
Are you referring to the pngs generated by ThemeRoller (for the jQuery
UI CSS Framework)?
If so, the transparent pngs in from framework actually do work in IE6.
They're png8 and we've designed them to degrade gracefully in IE6 to a
single alpha channel that ends up looking like a gif (hard edges, but
still acceptable). Be sure to grab the latest copy of your theme from
ThemeRoller to get the latest images.

Otherwise, for general pngfix in your layouts, I've found this plugin
to work well http://jquery.andreaseberhard.de/pngFix/ .
I can't say how it works with UI though.
