Some work has begun in a development branch: http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/svn/branches/dev/menu/ demo: http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/svn/branches/dev/menu/tests/visual/menu/menu.html In about a week we'll have results from plugin prioritization: http://wiki.jqueryui.com/Prioritizing-plugins That won't say which release it will be in, or how long it will take to complete the design and development.
