More info: Try with a theme other than the "Smoothness" default. I was trying to get the "Start" theme. This apparently doesn't work at all, even in IE.
My custom picks, in detail - UI Core - Draggable, Droppable, Resizeable - Dialog and Tabs - No effects - Start theme - 1.7.1 version.
