Unfortunately, it needs to stay open. We're basically using it to
stick events (stuff selected from a dropdown above the calendar) onto
certain days. The user selects something from the dropdown and then
clicks on dates to either add or remove the event from the calendar.
I may resort to completely re-render the calendar in the onSelect
handler although I haven't figured out how to do that either. That may
not be very efficient (we're showing 6 months per calender page) but
if that's what it takes ;)
