Hello All -
After much deliberation the jQuery team has decided to close down the
Google Groups that we've been using for project discussion and move to
a unified forum instead.
The new forum can be found here:

I'm new here, subscribed just 2 or 3 days ago. I am distressed by this
announcement. Here's why:
My experience with forums is, they send out an announcement when a new
thread is posted, then require you to log in before you receive further
announcements on that thread. Even if I log in, I have to stay logged
in to follow the thread or keep logging in to get announcements on new
replies being posted.
Whereas, with an email list, I receive everything that is posted and I
can review it at my leisure, after the crisis of the moment or of the
day has been attended to. I don't have to log in and squat on a forum
in order to stay abreast of all the replies.
You said the provider is attending to your concerns so my question is:
will they send announcements on everything or, will this despicable
"log in to stay updated" rigamarole win out yet again?
