opening for a Software Engineer located in Boston, MA. This is a full-time 
position and the salary range is DOE. Our client will offer some relocation 
assistance for nonlocal candidates, but their preference is local candidates. 
Our client is in a hurry to fill this position and there are multiple openings 
available. 

As an engineer on our team, you will have the chance work on challenging 
projects that leverage a mix of open source frameworks, to great user 
experiences that fulfills the promise of the Open Web, pair with team members 
who are committed to shipping quality code, and build products that impact the 
lives of students around the world.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
 
You need to know JavaScript well and have built one least rich client 
application in a framework like Ember, AngularJS, Backbone, KnockoutJS, etc, in 
your day job or as a side project.
You should be able to build a back-end that provides REST services needed for 
your JavaScript-based app to work using a popular web framework. We use Ruby on 
Rails and Java, but would welcome new members that bring other language chops, 
such as Python, Clojure, or Scala, to round out our polyglot team.
You like to pair program for a good portion of your week. We believe that 
frequent pairing is a good way to share knowledge about different parts app and 
the underlying technologies. The conversations during the pairing session often 
the seed of new ideas of how to make the app better.

Required Experience 

We would also like for you to bring one or more of these skills:
 
Ability to faithfully translate polished designs into well-structured and 
responsive HTML5 and CSS2 (including SASS or LESS)
Experience with the use the Chrome Developer Tools (or similar) pinpoint bugs 
or identify bottlenecks that arises during the course of rich client development
Knows how to use Node.js to build event-based services. Experience with 
promise-based programming a big plus. (We helped create RSVP.js, a Promise/A+ 
compliant implements used in Ember.js and Oasis.js).
Understand SQL and how relational database systems work. (We use Postgres)
Experience in taking on some of the roles in the agile development process, 
such as helping the product owner with story writing and estimations, 
facilitating iteration planning, leading team retrospectives, etc.
Knows your way around version control (we use Git) and continuous integration 
tools, and takes pride in helping to team to keep the build “green”
Built a native app on iOS or Android and understand know to leverage WebKit and 
Javascript runtime in a native environment
