Mat, don't give up my friend.
This stuff is difficult and ever changing even for those of us who
are supposed to know what we're doing.
there are some fine instructors on this list, each with his or her
strong points,
Phil knows hsc inside out and backwards, Brian is undisputedly the ct
man, and yours truly sneaks up and fills in the gaps where he can,
and is also a dual screen-reader man,
you spent a lot of money to get this far, and you may need to invest
a little in to your hobby to get to a level you can operate in.
Unfortunately, email lists are poor places to get full blown tutorial
style help, especially when it comes to extensive trouble-shooting,
also it takes time for scripts and tools to catch up with the latest os,
the official build of jsonar 8 isn't even out yet,
it's still in beta though many of us are using it,
and ct just recently came out with they're 64 bit version.
bugs are being ironed out of hsc,
the w7 interface for some plug-ins is a little different just enough
diferent to throw some things off, top level window names are
somewhat different,
and all these things will eventually be addressed.
Phil's done a tremendous amount of free work trying to keep these hsc
sets up to date and compatible, you have no idea how much work this is.
I've done some hsc authoring myself, and it can really suck up some
serious time.
So only you can decide what is right for you,
as a blind musician / engineer,
we already have to work twice as hard to get going, it's not easy,
but rewards come to those who persevere.
I myself am now havin to return a piece of gear which has proven not
suitable in exchange for something which is supposed to be more suitable,
and having to pay a re-stocking fee, but that's the breaks, I don't like it,
but sometimes when your leading the herd, or are on the bleeding
edge, you take the lumps too.
One does the research, and makes educated informed decissions to the
best of one's ability but still ends up with one's proverbial
gonads in the fire sometimes 'grin'.
Didn't yo mama ever tell you life ain't fair?
Well, one has to slap on a little ointment and keep on truckin' as it were.
Believe me, we all feel your pain.
Good luck,
and all the best my friend.

Hi list,
Don't mean to bug distract and disturb, but I tried EVERY single
thing to fix my dimension and HSC/rapture/dropzone etc problems, and
as the subject states NOTHING WORKS. I want to make music, but I am
now very limited to house/trance/electronica (those are what z3ta
and pentagon focus on if I'm not mistaken). These are not my styles
of music to make. My sighted friends/family members do not have the
time to help me with this. I feel like I've been cheated. I got this
DAW for it's accessibility and the plug-ins. Now that the plug-ins
are gone I really don't know what to do. Maybe I should just dthrow
my hobby of music creation/production out the window, and return my
i5 computer bought exclusively for this purpose. Maybe i should sell
my xs and all the other equipment I have and not do this anymore.
Maybe I should wait for a more stable and reliable version of Sonar
or HSC, or I should wait for an accessible mouse to come along. What
do I do? Please help me. I really need it.
Best wishes and regards,
Matthew
