Hey Chad, that lion's club is a great organization.
They sent me to camp when I was a snot nosed bratt 'grin'.
What great memories.
Well, that geting bored is just one of those things most of the world
doesn't have an option about, most folks i know aren't crazy about
their jobs, but it's different for us blindies, we don't get all the
choices, and we always have to prove ourselves.
But music is one of those areas that if your good, and a self
starter, you can do a lot even in these crazy times.
You may not be a zillion air, but you can do gigs, teach, do
engineering, mixing mastering, all that stuff and do it on your own terms.
Of course you won't get the benefits of working for a corporation,
but hey, the great jobs there are going away faster than a raw beef
steak left unguarded in a dog kennel 'grin'.
have you exhausted your options with your local rehab, they're always
worth approaching, those vr councellors like that feather in their
cap, and now adays it's not so off the planet to get rehab to pay for
audio engineering, or buy gear for the type of stuff we do.
Especially if you show them initiative, and stick to itness.
We got a loan, and had the studio built, not as good as we'd have
liked, but good enough to swork in, and i didn't have gear for snot
before they decided to cough up a good hunk of change and we were
able to appoint our studio rather nicely.
Sometimes you just have to sell yourself.
The lion's club are known to do all sorts of things, rehab is full of
bean counters who just want the numbers to look good, they didn't
even listen to any of my stuff, or the higher ups didn't, and my
councelor who's just a doll did a lot of the legwork for us helping
with business plan and such since I suck at that sort of stuff,
I can run rings
about a mixing board and eq and compression and such, but I drool
down my chin and get this stupid look on my face when i have to deal
with forms and such 'grin'.
Technical stuff is where it's at for me, and playing too of course.
But since I'm an old fart with diabetes, and don't hit the clubs
anymore, the thrill is more vicarious, helping others to do their
thing, nothing feels nicer to me when one of my students send me a
track they did with the knowledge they got
from me, and taking what they learned and running with it.
And I have an almost 100 percent success rate.
But everyone learns differently and you have to find what works for them.
I wish you luck and I'll give you an up wherever I can.

if they will help me out. I'm wanting to see If they will help me
out with some of the moneys for a daw and some trainning. So, if
you know of any grants or some other resorces that might be
availible would you please pass them along? producing music is
about the only thing I have tryed and haven't gotten board with in
the last 10 years. (grin)

Hey Chad,
Ain't like that in this situation.
This woman can get what she wants,
she just hasn't gotten aggrevated enough yet, or it ain't important
enough to her.
So yes,
there are two sets of students I've dealt with,
the really poor folks who have to make due with what they got,
then the ones who can afford what they need,
and get it and are happily humming along,
and then the unexplainables
like my friend
who insists they can put a square peg in a round hole,
and make it work never mind getting any music done 'smile'.
YOu might get lucky and hit key combinations and get things to work
haphazardly,
but for the live of me,
I don't see why someone who could do better doesn't?
Maybe some folks like it,
kind of reminds me of the moth that keeps flying in to the window though.
And too bad, because she's fairly talented.
Ah well, takes all kinds.
Peace out.

have to play around. I'm forst to use a lap top here myself. I'm
actually very grateful for what I have because It is way better
than what I had before.

Hey I figured out what the deal was with the insert send thing. I
do not know why this works or what it's supposed to do, but when
in the track window and on the name of the track I press the f8
key by itself, then when it says now measure 1 I tab and it says
track inspector and then again and it goes back to the track
window. For some reason after that little dance, I can push
control ap and it brings up the correct menu. Praise the lord,
finally figured out how to make that work, and I'm not usually a
person that goes around using that particular expression... well
at least not out loud. For me a praise the lord moment is usually
private. But I am super happy that I figured this out. I am also
happy that "Your Long Journey is sounding very good except for a
couple timing and mixing issues which I will probably fix. But
that is another story I suppose.
