John,
To answer your question .. Even though Java may be polluted my Microsoft.
Java Objects without any manipulation can be used as COM objects. Thus,
even though I don't have, or can't figure out how to get a pure Java
solution running ... (From the Microprocessor UP) .. I can at least have the
benefits of portability.
ASP and JSP are very similar. All I would need to do theoretically (since
I'm trying this now) is adjust the ASP code for JSP language constraints,
and open the appropriate classes. (I have yet to figure out the last part
.. everyone keeps giving me examples base on classes that came from SUN ..
instead of a class I've created.)=
So, I've yet figured out how to get the JavaOS running on a x486, load the
Java Web Server, and finally get the JDBC functional so that I can create a
pure Java solution. Until then .. I'll use ports.

Subject: Re: Java COM Objects for IIS
Why use COM objects in Java at all, they have polluted the
Java standard and the speed of Java COM's are pretty slow
beacurse the Java types must be converted to Variants and
vice versa. Use ServletExec with JDK1.2 + Hotspot it's five
times as fast that ASP + Java COM. If you must write COM
objects write them in C++ not in VB or Java the speed is'nt
fast enought, but that depends on if you want speed or flexibility!!
Just a point in the disscussion.
