Yes, there is. I think the solution lies in the servlet engine (the module
which connects your web server to the JVM). I think the conventional way to
handle this is for the servlet engine to provide/use an alternative class
loader. This loader checks the source of the servlet's class file and if it
has changed since it last loaded the particular servlet class you are using
it loads an updated copy. So, check the documentation on the servlet engine
you are using.
