You can try to use a style tag (style="width:250") in IE, or in Netscape simply set the width attribute.  I don't know if IE's browser will let you override the width if it will end up cutting things off (I think Netscape does), but it will definitely allow you to size the select larger than it would by default.

I think it is not possible to fix the size of the list box.
The list gets automatically sized as per the size of the
largest element.
