We are doing a large comparison on servlet engines
here. I have tested ServletExec, JRun, JServ the
SUN JSWDK, some both on WIN-NT and a Linux Environment
if applicable.

Resin was one of the harder engines to put to work under
Windows-NT. The description of the installation of the
ISAPI Filter is IMHO defunct. Do not follow the numbered
steps. First read it all and consider it well, then start
with "step 0": Use the setup program otherwise nothing
will happen :-)

It seems also that the path where you put the resin
engine seems to be not arbitrary, I hav had problems with
deep paths.

I still cannot get httpd to do its work... I can
only generate a message that it stops when I click
stop, this is a sign that it was running before I
guess. But is doesn't respond on the 8080 or 80 port.

The archive I downloaded (1.1.0) does not seem to
contain the example servlets and jsps, used to check
the installation in the installation guide. Using
caucho-status seems to be better. E.g. I haven't found
a servlet Hello anywhere, but I found a HelloServlet :-(
The classes are not precompiled either in my edition.

So I have the server running, but I haven't seen of
it much yet.

Further different documents by Resin display
different versions of resin.conf (different DTD IMHO).

The troubleshooting guide for the IIS talks about httpd.sh
and srun.sh which is ridiculous.

Resin is not answering to email requests.

Resin still has to convince me that it is worth the
effort.

Any help appreciated.

Frank.
