Subject: Problem with <jsp:param> tag

Hi,

   I am unable to retrieve the value of the parameter that i am using in
<jsp:param> tag.I am using this with <jsp:forward> tag.
the code is
<jsp:forward page="somejspfile.jsp"/>
<jsp:param name="somename" value="somevalue">
</jsp:forward>
In the calling jsp file i am using String s =
request.getParameter("somename");
But this always returns me a null value.
Can somebody help me out?
Thanx.
