All I trying to use XPath to process a taglib.tld but it fails to work because the DTD for taglibraries use a default namespace. The problem is that you need to express the namespace prefix in an XPath expression and there is no syntax that I'm aware of for specifying a default namespace as a prefix. In other words, in XPath if there is no prefix then your expression will only match those elements that are not in any namespace at all.
