TIA, If you want to put some java code in your JSP, you need to put it inside a scriptlet like this <% Date myDate = new Date(); %>
then, you can output the value of myDate using an expression scriptlet: . . Date: <%= myDate %> . . As far as XML goes, Tags are either in the form of <someTag attr1=val1 /> or <someTag attr1=val1> body text1 body text2 . . body textn </someTag> -Regards, Richard At 10:41 AM 2/6/2002 +0700, you wrote: >Hi, >Sorry, I'm new to jsp. >Why this second expression doesn't work? > >---<cut>--- >Date : <%= new java.util.Date() %> ><br> >Date : <jsp:expression>new java.util.Date()<jsp:expression> >---<cut>--- > >Output : > >Date : Wed Feb 06 10:37:14 GMT+07:00 2002 >Date : new java.util.Date() > >I'm using Tomcat 4.01 > >TIA. > >=========================================================================== >To unsubscribe: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "signoff >JSP-INTEREST". >For digest: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "set JSP-INTEREST DIGEST". >Some relevant FAQs on JSP/Servlets can be found at: > >http://archives.java.sun.com/jsp-interest.html >http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/faq.html >http://www.esperanto.org.nz/jsp/jspfaq.jsp >http://www.jguru.com/faq/index.jsp >http://www.jspinsider.com =========================================================================== To unsubscribe: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "signoff JSP-INTEREST".
