Subject: How to access Application Scope in future?

Hi folks!

In the Servlet Api I read that getServletContext is deprecated - how
should I access beans within application scope in future?
Is the only way to create a new blank ServletContext and to assign this
via getContext("URI-Path") to my webapp?
Or do I misread Information on Application-Scope beans?
Thx for help.
Fabian
