Thanks a lot.. it is works in the client machine(if u configure your windows explorer
--> folder options). So we have to configure each and every client ..right?? is there
any settings to be done, so that client does not need to do anything???

Hi Vadivel,
The option is to be set for the .xls file type from Folder Options.
Try changing the settings in ur windows explorer .
Tools-->Folder Options-->File Types
For .xls extension file make sure the option for "Confirm open after download" is
checked.
