Hi,

I want to know if anyone have got a "well formed" sample configuration code
for informix data pooled connection with tomcat & struts (I've got tomcat
4.0.3 and jakarta-struts-1.0.2) : cause, the sample code from jakarta struts
(jsp + configuration) don't work : i've got "null" datasource from the jndi
context, but i can lookup "java:comp/env" well.

Here's my code

// create the datapoolconnexion

Context init = new InitialContext();
Context ctx = (Context) init.lookup("java:comp/env");
try {
    Object value = ctx.lookup("jdbc/datasourcename");
} catch (NamingException e) {
    throw new Exception("JNDI lookup failed : ", e);
}
DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("jdbc/datasourcename");
conn = ds.getConnection();
...

// in the web.xml of my webapp :
   <resource-ref>
  <description>
    Resource reference to a factory for java.sql.Connection
    instances that may be used for talking to a particular
    database that is configured in the server.xml file.
  </description>
  <res-ref-name>
    jdbc/datasourcename
  </res-ref-name>
  <res-type>
    javax.sql.DataSource
  </res-type>
  <res-auth>
    Container
  </res-auth>
</resource-ref>

// in the server.xml of tomcat
 <Context path="/eventFile" docBase="eventFile" debug="10">
  <Logger className="org.apache.catalina.logger.FileLogger"
                   prefix="localhost_eventfile_log." suffix=".txt"
            timestamp="true"/>
  <Resource name="jdbc/datasourcename" auth="Container"
type="com.informix.jdbcx.IfxConnectionPoolDataSource"/>
  <ResourceParams name="jdbc/datasourcename">
   <parameter> <name>user</name> <value>xxxxx</value> </parameter>
   <parameter> <name>password</name><value>xxxxxx</value></parameter>
   <parameter>
<name>driverClassName</name><value>com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver</value></para
meter>
   <parameter>
<name>driverName</name><value>jdbc:informix-sqli://xxxxxxxxxxxxx</value></pa
rameter>
  </ResourceParams>
        </Context>

If someone could send me any expert mailing list for that (like struts,
informix ?)

Cheers,
Franck E.
