OK, I understood you wanted to commit some code to Release.java...

I thought you'd already done this :-).  Might be a good idea to file
this stuff in the JIRA so that we don't accidentally release.

(Dang, now I am looking at it and banging my head - I completely
forgot that we should've put the alpha in 2.7.x, not 2.8.  That's what
you get for coding in the middle of the night.  It should've been
2.7.0-alpha-1, not 2.8.0-alpha-1.)
