I've been thinking of this, too, but it wasn't the problem. After creating a patch, UltraEdit tells me that the patch file is in "U8-UNIX". I guess this stands for UTF-8. Could be that the file still contains some characters which can only be used in the UTF-8 character set. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to test this. Regards Florian
