I think so, too. In addition, AFAIR XPath queries have no future in
JCR. JSR-283 only contains them for backwards compatibility reasons.

Well, whatever queries, which are likely to be slower than directly addressing the Node anyway :-)

double blanks?

Yes, I think that's in the rules as well.
