Team, I tweeted twice and emailed Janne three days ago, no response from him, but we didn't get an update on Finnish. I'd like to retire it from our distribution so we're not perpetually seeing a warning message in our build for it. Most Finns, like Janne presently does, are going to use English anyway so everyone around the world can understand their Wiki. As it's in the source control archives, we can always resurrect it relatively quickly if we get a complaint, providing the complainant translates the missing strings for us. :)

My view, if somebody on the team from country X wants to translate JSPWiki into Xese, that's fine, but once they leave the project, if it's a minor language like Lithuanian or Latvian or Finnish we look like idiots tweeting for translation help. The maintenance of too many languages also constrains us, as it makes it more difficult to change screens and the text on them.

We could also retire Russian, as it's missing a handful of strings as well, but Russian has about 30 times as many speakers as Finnish (155 million vs. 5 million) so I don't personally mind its retention even if we get warning messages for it.
