Since we're using it internally, we use machine names rather than domains. Mine, for example, is GP102002, so the base domain is http://gp102002:8080. This works in the browser, and it seems to work for everything but clicking on buttons.
Oddly, I tried http://gp102002:8080/ as the baseURL, and the system failed to find the CSS. This is a WinXP system running Tomcat. Grabbing 2.8.4 now.
