It appears that HP "has patents pending on the Judy Technology",
according to this document:

However, I don't see any information anywhere about how HP intends, if
at all, to enforce this patent, or patents.
I would certainly be wary of using Judy knowing that HP could at any
point decide to enforce the patent by demanding royalties or claiming
infringement.
