[Juglist] Swing question

I have an image I'm displaying using a JLabel.  I would like to overlay some 
pushbuttons in a corner of the image (where the corner will be user 
selectable).  Does anyone know the best way to accomplish this?  I'm playing 
around with a JLayeredPane but I'm not sure if that is the best approach.
