Just as a point of note, 2-factor authentication (TFA) is currently broken when using Pkg.publish(), so authors using TFA will have to publish manually (although I've found it works best if one runs Pkg.tag(), Pkg.publish(), let it fail, and then submit a pull request from the resulting METADATA repository).
(This needs to be fixed, of course.)
