[julia-users] got v0.4.0, stuck in Pkg.update()

Pkg.update() is complaining about Polynomial and Curl ("can't be installed 
because it has no versions ...")
I physically removed both from .julia/v0.4 and .julia/v0.4/cache, and 
removed whatever else required either.
What should I do to get this clean?  (could not find a good answer 
elsewhere -- though, it must be somewhere)
