It should be possible to work around by commenting out a restrictive pkg-config path setting in one of the makefiles and rebuilding libgit2 with libcurl support. We could remove the setting if many people are hitting this, but it was added to fix a libgit2 build problem caused by pkg-config picking up too many incompatible libraries on mac.
