Randy – for the detection you could try `isdefined(Main, :Jewel)`. Unfortunately we don't have a good approach to dependencies yet (I think Gadfly just dumps in its dependencies with every plot) but this is something I'll be looking into as part of the Atom work. From your tweets it looks like Vega is coming along really nicely, so I'm going to have to start playing around with it, and I'll help with getting it integrated where I can.
Sheehan – it looks like the signing may have failed on the OS X release. For now, right clicking and selecting "open" should do the trick.
