Hi all, just a feedback about Adbtoolbox and what can be useful for OJ: - Adbtoolbox has some nice features all connected to GRID analysis, basically we can devided in some groups:
1) a modified version of Pirolbaseclass.jar/rasterimage.jar which can open other GRID files (while Pirol can work with only TIFF/GeoTIFF one). This plugin has also the ability to reclassify rasters according to fix cell values and attribute new color schemas, these features can be modified by the users. This tool seems to be quite interesting As far as I understood it depends to java gdal libraries (/gdal_data folder and gdal.jar file in ext folder). There must be also depency with some Windows DLL Ogr/Gdal libraries (gdalconstjni.dll and other) which probabily can we found also in Linux 2) Idrological and Topographic analysis tools. These tools (which Luca sent as a sample) all depend to dynamic windows library and have almost a conrespondig Sextante tool. I think these could be a good resource for OJ since they almost woirk fine with OJ but they right now there is no possibility to reconvert into Linux or MacOSX tools (the aim of Openjump project). 3) A tool to convert WKT or shapefile to GRID. DLL depency 4) some enhenced WMS, WCS and WFS tools, oriented to explore the databases of the Italian "Ministero dell'Ambiente" IDE services 5) some modifications on original OJ 1.2/1.3 (no jython and beanshell tools, a "set working folder" tool, some modification of Italian language file <which I mostly added to OJ 1.3.1) Now, since a large part of 4) and 3) tools are already embedded into Sextante. In that time I considered not important to port them into OJ, even considering that they depend to DLL libraries not available in Linux. "Set working directory" could be fine to have, but this probabily depends how people is "used" to work: OJ remebers the las folder opened and this is fine too to use, instead. Point 1) is, on the other hand, interesting to explore for basically two reasons: 1) it derives to Pirol tools which OJ community already explored and 2) it depends to OGR/GDAL library which probabily would be available either for windows or for Linux/MacOSX. The benefits of "porting" this modified pirol tool into original one. right now: a) possibility to open othe GRID files other than TIFFs, b)the possibility to reclassify raster and modify color schema (similar to GvSIG 1.9 new raster feature) in the future: c) possibility to add other GDAL features like Raster info, reprojection etc. Unfortunately from the site of Ministero dell'Ambiente it is possible to download 2), 3) and 4) source files (except DLL) but not 1): this requires a work of reconversion of JAR files. I subscribed the AdbToolbox user list but it seems not working since many years. On the other hand I think some developers of this software participated to OJ lists in the past. I believe we would have a good benefits to collaborate together even because the core software of AdbToolbox follows Oj modification: Openjump 1.2F -> Adbtoolbox 1.4 - Openjump 1.3 -> Adbtoolbox 1.5 I think we can start to work on this modified pirol rater. If you agree, I am going to recollect the original files and ask the help to "internationalize" them so OJ community can test the usage.
